Church Links
The school has excellent links with the local church, Holy Trinity, and we work closely with Reverend Roger Bristow who is an active member of our AAC (governing body). The school’s ethos and values are securely founded on our Church designation and we hold regular services at the Church, moreover the vicar visits the school twice a week, taking an active part in school worship. We follow the Rochester diocese syllabus for both RE lessons and Collective Worship and also undertake much of their training. The school prides itself on being part of the local community.
Collective worship takes place daily either as a whole school or within the classroom. We come together as a family, and we share our prayers and worship as a community. The children say that it is an important part of the school day, even those who follow other religions, or none. We use our collective worship time to inspire the children to be their best and to celebrate their achievements. There is always a time of silent reflection and spiritual development leading the children to discover Jesus’s words ‘My peace I leave with you; my peace I give you’ (John 14:27). Children are asked to reflect on their personal responses and then asked to take forward their thoughts and put them into practice both during their time in school and at home.
